Adding Chronic Hemodialysis Order

Step-by-Step Guide: Adding a Chronic Hemodialysis Order in Unified E-MAR

  • Patient Search: Navigate to the patient search feature within Unified E-MAR to find and access the patient's records. Patient → Search Patient
  • Navigating to Edit: Within the patient's profile, locate and click on the "Edit" button to enter the edit mode. →Edit
  • Locating the Medical Tab: Within the patient's profile, navigate to the Patient → Search Patient → "Medical" tab to access medical-related information.

  • Access the Rx Link: Look for the → "Rx" link within the Medical tab, which directs you to prescription-related options.
  • Locating Hemodialysis Order: Within the Rx section, navigate to the bottom part of the screen to identify the option to see all the HD orders and add a new hemodialysis order.
  • Locate "Add HD Order". Click on the specific button or link labelled "Add HD Order" to access the hemodialysis order form.
  • Completing Hemodialysis Order Form: Once you have navigated to the Hemodialysis order form Patient → Search Patient → Medical → Rx → Add HD Order Review the various sections of the hemodialysis order form, including patient information, hemodialysis details, and additional instructions.

  • Finalizing the Order: Thoroughly review all entered information to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Click on the "Add" or "Save" button to finalize the hemodialysis order and confirm the changes made.
  • View Active Orders: If the hemodialysis order is active, you can view and review the details directly. Navigating to View: Within the Patient → Search Patient → Medical → Rx → Hemodialysis Order locate and click on the → "Edit" button to enter the edit mode. →Edit. System will allow only to extend the cut date. To view the order click on the → View Order button to enter the "View" or "Print".
  • Stop or Modify an Active Order: In case the hemodialysis order is currently active, you have the option to either "Stop" the order or "Stop and Re-prescribe" it. To "Stop" the order, select the → Stop Order button. If you wish to both "Stop and re-prescribe" the order, click on the → Stop & Represcribe button. The system will proceed to the new order form.
  • Handle Inactive or Expired Orders: If the order is inactive or expired, navigate to the "Inactive Prescriptions" section in the Rx tab as following. Within the Patient → Search Patient → Medical → Rx → Inactive Prescriptions locate Hemodialysis Order section.
  • Activate or Clone Expired Order: To activate or clone under Inactive Prescriptions. After selecting "Use as Template" , update the necessary information for the order. Click on the "Save" or "Update" button to save the changes made to the expired or stopped order. Once updated, review the order details to ensure accuracy and completeness.
